Applications

for the petrochemical industry

Whether it is for industrial or environmental reasons, analytical constraints evolved significantly over the past two decades. A typical example is the sulfur element: its concentrations are determined strictly in the raw products (oil and gas), in refining intermediate products, and finally in the end products (fuels). This also impacts the air as environmental regulations require the accurate and right analysis of very small amounts. Moreover, this trend can be generalized: the required analyzes involve increasingly low concentrations or even traces. Constraints are both on the analyzer performances and on the calibration system of those analyzers. Single-point calibration, for example, is more and more moving towards multipoint calibrations.

Application examples :

GasMix: There are two main types of applications: analysis of analyzers and creation of controlled gas atmospheres.

Zephyr :  Simple and discreet companion of the analyst, Zephyr allows automatic calibration by dilution.

PAC-Antek : Determination of sulfur content and/or nitrogen in the gas, liquids and solids samples. The application fields range from nitrogen traces in a process gas to sulfur in traces and LPG.

→ Low sulfur content: sulfur determination and identification of sulfur compounds in oil and gas matrices are increasingly required by the industry. A typical example is the sulfur content in natural gas. Taking into account the nature of compounds (H2S, mercaptans, thio, etc.) and of the matrix makes the analyzer calibration more complex in case of trace analysis (<1 ppm S).
